I Should Have Called You Earlier

“That’s my telephone phrase. We can play right now, if you want.”

I Should Have Called You Earlier is a one-on-one telephone play where you receive a call from a half familiar stranger. Together, you’ll reflect back on an imagined past, playing games and sharing memories along the way. It’s an intimate, interactive, and live experience that runs 15 - 20 minutes.

I Should Have Called You Earlier is a Pay-What-You-Will performance. After your call, you’ll receive an email with instructions to pay whatever amount you choose. All proceeds will go directly to the artists involved.

I Should Have Called You Earlier has been extended by popular demand! Performances now run through January 31.

This show is now SOLD OUT. Thank you all for your incredible support!

For those who’ve already reserved tickets: Because not knowing who’s on the other end of the phone is part of the fun, we disguised our performers as the four elements for ticketing purposes. You’ll receive more information about your specific performer after your call.

Rachel Esther Tate (she/her) is a Stay-At-Home artist of sorts these days. In pre-pandemic times she acted at theatres such as Arena Stage, Mark Taper Forum, and South Coast Rep. Now she photographs the strangeness and beauty of these times, is in development on a passion piece with playwright Danielle Mohlman, and is beginning her training to become a Death Doula. Rachel is actively seeking healing and light through the art of creation and she's really excited to get to connect with other humans through the uniqueness of this beautiful project.
